Frequently Asked Questions
Please read the FAQs below to find answers to common questions. If you can't find what you're looking for, just scroll down to the bottom of the page where you'll find our email address. Feel free to reach out to us there!
How does the Ailia Bottle work?
Simply plug the charger into the bottle on a flat surface and allow 8~12 minutes for the bottle to heat up (depending on your environment temperature). The red indicator light on the charger will switch off once ready.
Now you're ready to remove the charger and enjoy 1~6 hours of warmth (depending on your environment temperature).
How hot does the Ailia Bottle get?
The Ailia Bottle has an intelligent thermostat that automatically cuts off the power when heated to an internal temperature of 70° Celsius.
How often can I use my Ailia Bottle?
As much as you like! Our Ailia Bottles have a temperature control component, the bottle will not allow you to reheat unless it has reached a cool temperature.
However, rest assured the heat is long lasting!
How long does the heating last once I charge the Ailia Bottle?
The Ailia Bottle will emit 1-6 hours of heat (depending on your environment temperature).
Once the bottle has cooled down to the optimal charging temperature, simply plug the charger back on and in 8-12 minutes it'll be ready for another 1-6 hours of heat.
Can I sleep with the Ailia Bottle?
No, we do not recommend sleeping with Ailia Bottle for multiple reasons.
1. You may roll over onto the bottle and increase risk of bottle bursting due to pressure.
2. WARNING - HOT WATER BOTTLES CAN CAUSE BURNS. AVOID PROLONGED DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE SKIN.
It's important to note that our electric hot water bottle should be used with caution, and appropriate care should be taken to avoid burns or accidents. Please follow our instruction label and guidelines for safe usage.
Why does my Ailia Bottle make a boiling sound whilst charging?
Hearing a soft bubbling or boiling sound while the Ailia Bottle is charging is completely normal! This is just the internal heating element warming the pre-filled water inside the bottle, similar to the sound a kettle makes, but on a smaller scale. The sound typically lasts for a few minutes and stops once the bottle reaches the set temperature. It's a sign that the bottle is working properly and heating safely.
Can I use the Ailia Bottle without the body strap?
You can use the Ailia Bottle without the Body Strap however we do not recommend using the bottle without it at the full 70° Celsius.
We need to protect our skin so adding a layer of protection when using the Ailia Bottle, is important for several reasons:
- Heat Distribution: The ailia bottle can generate significant heat, and direct contact with the skin may cause uneven heat distribution or localized hotspots. This can potentially lead to redness, skin irritation, or even burns. By using a layer of protection, such as the ailia body strap, the heat is more evenly distributed, reducing the risk of discomfort or injury to the skin.
- Insulation: The ailia body strap acts as an insulating barrier between the ailia bottle and the skin. It helps to minimize the transfer of heat, ensuring that the temperature remains within a safe and comfortable range. Without this additional layer, the skin may be exposed to excessive heat, which can result in skin irritation and potential damage.
- Prevention of Accidental Contact: Sometimes, when using the ailia bottle without the body strap, there is a chance of accidental contact between the bottle and sensitive areas of the body, such as the abdomen. This can be risky, as these areas are more susceptible to heat-related injuries. The body strap provides a secure way to keep the ailia bottle in place, minimising the likelihood of accidental contact and associated risks.
- Comfort: Using the body strap can enhance the overall comfort of using the ailia bottle. It helps to secure the bottle in the desired position, preventing it from shifting or slipping. This ensures that the heat is consistently applied to the intended area, providing effective relief from pain or discomfort.
Overall, adding a layer of protection, such as the body strap, when using a hot water bottle is recommended to ensure even heat distribution, prevent skin irritation or burns, minimise accidental contact with sensitive areas, and enhance overall comfort during use. It serves as an additional safety measure to protect the skin and promote a positive user experience.
Can the Ailia Bottle cause Toasted Skin Syndrome?
Toasted Skin Syndrome (TSS) is a skin condition that can develop from repeated, prolonged exposure to heat sources, typically over 43°C. While the Ailia Bottle is designed with safety features like the Body Strap and Bottle Pouch, it can reach temperatures up to 70°C, so it’s important to use it responsibly. To reduce the risk of TSS:
- Limit use to 20–30 minutes at a time.
- Avoid direct skin contact—always use the Body Strap or Bottle Pouch and over clothing.
- Check skin regularly and rotate placement.
- Avoid prolonged exposure (e.g. several hours daily) in the same area.
If you notice any skin changes, like a net-like pattern or redness, stop using the Ailia Bottle and consult a healthcare professional if needed.
Why does the Ailia Bottle sometimes expand when heated?
The Ailia Bottle is a fully sealed unit with water inside. When heated, slight expansion may occur due to air or gases released from the water. This is a normal effect of heating water in a closed system.
However, if you notice significant or excessive inflation, please stop using the bottle immediately and contact our support team for assistance.
Does the Ailia Bottle emit any radiation?
No, the Ailia Bottle does not emit any harmful radiation. It uses a simple internal heating element, similar to those found in household appliances like kettles or electric blankets. Once the water is heated, the device is unplugged and used cord-free so there is no active electrical current or EMF (electromagnetic field) exposure while it’s being used on your body. It’s completely safe for everyday use and designed with your wellbeing in mind.
My Bottle isn't heating up properly?
Please follow this guide step by step to ensure correct use:
1. Lay the bottle flat on a bench.
2. Open the charge port cover.
3. Slide the included charger into the bottle charge port and make sure the connection is correctly fastened (Press the charger down firmly into the bottle to ensure complete connection)
4. Plug in the charger directly into a power point on the wall and switch on the outlet.
5. Switch on the on/off switch on the charger and ensure the red indicator light is on.
6. Allow the bottle to charge until the red indicator light switches off and makes a little ding sound (may take between 8~12 minutes depending on the temperature of your environment).
7. On a full charge the Ailia Bottle reaches an internal temperature of 70°C.
8. To ensure this sequence has been completed correctly please try to recharge the bottle within 2 minutes and if the red indicator light does not switch on, this means the bottle has successfully reached its maximum internal temperature.
The charger won't allow the bottle to recharge to the full 70°C until the bottle temp has dropped below 50°C for safety purposes.
If this attempt was unsuccessful please try repeating the steps on another power point in another room or space separated to the one just tested in.
